Kamal Haasan then asked Anitha what she has to say, to which she stood her ground and said she believed what she did was right. Kamal applauded her and said that if Periyar was alive, he would have appreciated her and that they were all doing it on his behalf.

But, Kamal also said he was slightly angry with Anitha for crying over speaking something that was valid. He said it was not such a bad mistake that she said, so as to cry behind closed doors and that was he felt was wrong on her part.
