Tamil Nadu's Information and Broadcasting minister Kadambur Raju earlier said that all movie tickets will be sold online and tracked in Tamil Nadu, which had opened up as a major topic of discussion among producers, theatre owners and of course, the movie-buffs.
This minister had opened up on this idea last week. This idea was proposed to promote transparency and to regulate online ticket sales in a step-by-step manner. He had also said that the prices of food and beverages inside the theatres will be regulated soon. But the taxes online are a bit scary aren't they?
With that, Minister Kadambur Raju has also recently announced an appreciable move, the tax for the tickets booked online will be based on transactions, irrespective of the number of tickets being booked. Currently, there is a tax for each number of tickets and this new move, if imposed will make the movie-maniacs (especially families) jump with happiness.
This move has not been decided yet, and a meeting with leading theatre owners is expected to happen soon, after which a decision is expected to arrive.
