During a recent audio launch event, renowned producer K Rajan had made a few honest and bold statements regarding the corruption in film censorship.

"Producers are already going through a lot of problems to release a film. Mainly censorship is a huge hurdle to the producers. It is a strenuous process. Firstly, we need to wait 3 months to get the censor certificate from the state government and then apply for state government's tax exemption.

It is not easy to get tax exemption from that tax exemption committee. Do you know what all the producers are going through to get entertainment tax exemption? Even last week, my friend had to pay 5 lakhs to get tax exemption. If is a Vijay or Ajith film, they need to pay 1 crore."

It must be noted that things have changed now with the implementation of GST. Now the concept of tax exemption is not applicable.

Likewise, K Rajan also insisted all the actors to attend the audio launch functions. "For many films, the heroes and the heroines skip the audio launch functions of their own films. This is not a healthy practice."
