Home > Tamil Movies > Tamil Cinema NewsAn appeal was filed on behalf of Lyca Productions, seeking an injunction, restraining director Shankar from directing other films without completing Indian 2. The case came up for hearing before a bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjib Banerjee and Justice Senthil Kumar Ramamurthy. At the time, the lawyer appearing for director Shankar said that the filmmaker had signed a Telugu film starring Ram Charan for which shoot will begin from May 2022 and said that the director would complete Indian 2 in five months from June to October.
Shankar's lawyer said that the production company had made serious allegations against the director and demanded that they be withdrawn. He also said that the portions involving actor Vivekh need to be re-shot as the latter had passed away recently.
He also alleged that the case was filed by concealing these details. Lyca's lawyer said that director Shankar has already been paid Rs 32 crore and that it was ready to pay the remaining amount as well. He said that the film was scheduled to be completed by last March itself but already huge losses have been incurred as the film has not been completed yet and added that the production side was willing to let go of bygones in anticipation of the future.
Following this, the judges ruled that the court order would not result in a settlement, and adjourned the hearing to April 28, advising both parties to meet and find a solution.
