During the audio launch of Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming sports-based film Bigil, the expressed worry over the death of Subashri, which was caused by a loose-hanging banner. The actor condemned the incident and commented that action must be taken against those who are responsible for this.
In the wake of this fatal incident, fans of the actor decided not to erect any banners for any special occasions, which includes the release of Vijay's upcoming film Bigil. Recently, the members of Vijay welfare association approached the Tirunelveli police department to install CCTV cameras along with monitors in the vicinity of Meenakshipuram Girls Higher secondary school.
The event was attended by Mr. Arjun Saravanan IPS, Tirunelveli district's Commissioner of Police. In his Facebook post he thanked the fans of actor Vijay for contributing to women safety and felt that the actor's Tirunelveli fans will set an example for fans all over Tamil Nadu.
Releasing on October 25, Bigil stars Vijay and Nayanthara as leads and the sports drama is directed by Atlee. The big budget feature is produced by AGS Entertainment.
