When asked about Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan's political entries, Kanimozhi said that people do not want to waste their votes by voting for them. She added that people wanted DMK to come to power.
This hasn't gone down well with Sripriya who posted on her Twitter page her criticism of Kanimozhi's remarks but with respect.
A translated version of Sripriya's comments go as thus:
"Sister! You are more experienced than me in politics. However, I have to remind you of some facts regarding the criticism of our leader and our friend Rajini. If they belong to the film industry, your father and my most respected leader, Maran, Amritham, Udayanidhi, Stalin, Selvam are there as well. Today, I have the misfortune to tell you that everyone is involved in the film industry including Sun Pictures (sorry if any name is missing). But if your criticism is regarding their age, the names mentioned above would be a good fit there as well.
People need change. Welcome and compete with those who want to bring good governance. Your father, who has seen many generations of politics as a senior leader, invited Nammavar to politics. Honour the prediction of that political genius!"
