It was earlier reported that around 10 sovereigns of gold were stolen from the actor’s household in Madurai recently. Soori was attending his niece’s wedding function where several celebrities including Sivakarthikeyan, Vijay Sethupathi and Karunas graced the occasion.

After a complaint was lodged with the Keerathurai police, action was taken within 24 hours and the robber, Vignesh, hailing from Paramakudi was nabbed. Police also recovered the gold jewels from him. Investigation regarding the case is currently ongoing and it is being said that he has the routine of getting into high-profile weddings while posing as a VIP and stealing jewels. He also introduces himself to all the guests so that nobody casts a doubt on his uninvited entry. Meanwhile, CCTV footage of the accused in the wedding has also emerged.

On the workfront, the ace actor-cum-comedian is currently involved in a number of projects including Rajinikanth's much-anticipated 'Annaatthe' directed by Siva. Sivakarthikeyan's 'Don' directed by Cibi Chakravarthi Jyotika-Sasikumar's 'Udanpirappe' and Bigg Boss Tamil fame Mugen Rao's 'Velan'. He is also acting as the hero in Vetrimaaran's much-anticipated 'Viduthalai'.
