Director Shankar, the creator who waves his magical wand every time he tells a story on celluloid and captivates the audience, celebrates his birthday today, the 17th August. Having had his tutelage under SA Chandrasekar and Pavithran, Shankar made his directorial debut in Tamil through Gentleman. Since then, there was no looking back for this meticulous technician, whose filmography boasts of near 100% success rate. He is someone who knows the pulse of the audience like the back of his hand.
Shankar has given us films like Kaadhalan, Indian, Jeans, Mudhalvan, Boys, Anniyan, Sivaji, Enthiran, Nanban and I in Tamil. Through his production banner S Pictures, he has shown spotlight on directors like Balaji Sakthivel, Chimbudeven, Vasantha Balan, Arivazhagan, Naaga and Karthik G Krish.
One can say Shankar is the pioneer when it comes to usage of VFx techniques in films and he started using this technological tool from his very early days in his films. Right now Shankar, known for his grandeur and intelligence, is busy with Enthiran 2.0 with Superstar Rajinikanth.
