"WE TOOK A BIG RISK, BUT IT PAID OFF" - GK CINEMAS RUBAN

In June 2016, GK Cinemas, Porur, opened again after undergoing a renovation. Since then, the popular theater has seen a successful run and completed two years with Ruban Mathivanan taking over as the Managing Director.
Speaking to Behindwoods in an exclusive conversation, Ruban opened up about the success of the theater. "We took a big risk as the investment was big. But it paid off and we feel that it was worth the risk. We didn't expect such an outcome, and it has worked beyond our expectations."
With respect to films that helped the box office, he said, "Films like Baahubali 2, Kabali, Mersal, Vivegam and Vikram Vedha were extremely successful, while quality films like Aruvi, Maanagaram, Theeran, Irumbu Thirai, and Nadigayar Thilagam have also performed very well in our center. People have started requesting us to play Hollywood films in English, so that is working out as well."
The young MD signed off by saying, "Kabali had a massive opening even though we had only one screen at that time. We are opening the counters for Kaala very soon, and we are expecting something huge. Rajinikanth is Superstar for a reason."
Congratulations to Ruban and the team behind GK Cinemas for the success!
