SIVAKARTHIKEYAN'S CLASH WITH VIJAY SETHUPATHI, JIIVA AND PRABHU DEVA!

October 7th has become the d-day for many Kollywood producers this year, as they are planning to release their films on that day. Being a five-day weekend, it would be the best time to release, to cash in on good collections at the box office.

Sivakarthikeyan’s Remo was the very first film to book this slot, while Jiiva’s Kavalai Vendam joined later. Apart from these two, it is also told that Vijay Sethupathi’s Rekka and Prabhu Deva’s Devi(L) are expected to release on the same day.  The first two films are romantic comedies, while Rekka is touted to be an action thriller. Devi(L) marks director Vijay’s first attempt at the horror genre. This tells us that the pooja holiday releases are going to be a mix of different genres.

It has been a while since we saw four films releasing together on the same day. We happened to see a similar kind of situation during Pongal 2016, where, Rajini Murugan, Kathakali, Thaarai Thappattai and Gethu got released on the same day. Rajini Murugan emerged as the successful box office winner out of the four.
