In 2012, director Sundar C, who is famous for his comical entertainers, came up with Kalakalappu, a film that received positive reviews for entertaining the audience successfully. That film starred Vemal, Shiva, Anjali, Oviya, and Santhanam and performed well at the box office too.

Now, after 5 years, our sources say that Sundar C is all set to start a sequel to the movie, before starting work on Sangamithra. For Kalakalappu 2, Sundar C has opted to cast Jiiva and Jai to feature in this sequel. While Catherine Tresa and Nikki Galrani are expected to play the female leads.
