WHY VIJAY AND I MET J JAYALALITHA - SAC

In a recent interview with Behindwoods, the veteran director, and actor Vijay’s father, SA Chandrasekar spoke about various topics from how current generation cinema is, about producer council election and more. Here is the response for one question that some Vijay fans might want to know.

Q: Both you and your son Vijay had a good rapport with the former CM of Tamil Nadu, Late J Jayalalitha. You both even met her once. Having said that, what do you have to say about her party AIADMK’s current unrest political situation? Do you feel bad that AIADMK’s symbol has been suspended from RK Nagar elections?

SAC’s response: “In 1985, Kalaignar (Karunanidhi) wrote dialogues for my film Neethikku Thandanai. I had associated with him for 3 of my movies for dialogues. I have a 35 years friendship with him, but I never called him as my leader, but always address as ‘anney’ (brother). Even today, I go, meet and sit next to him, but I have not joined his party.

Similarly, madam ‘Amma’ (J Jayalalitha), when she was the opposition party leader, called us to support her in the election. So we supported her. We only supported her, our ‘Iyyakkam’ only supported her, but we did not join the party. So we do not have any relation with AIADMK party or its symbol. Vijay and I met her and presented a bouquet after she won the elections.

I never shared a close relationship with any politicians and the only exception is Kalaignar, because he accepted me as a friend beyond politics ”
