“MUTTIAH IS A TRAITOR…” - DIRECTOR BHARATHIRAJA STRONGLY REACTS TO VIJAY SETHUPATHI’S 800 CONTROVERSY!
Home > Tamil Movies > Tamil Cinema NewsEver since the announcement of Vijay Sethupathi stepping into the shoes of Muttiah Muralitharan in 800 was out, fans were excited to know more about it. But looks like it has stirred up a controversy right after unveiling the first look on Tuesday, October 13.
The biopic will be about the life of a young boy who went on to become one of the greatest bowlers in the history - Sri Lankan cricketer and coach, Muttiah Muralitharan. Post the huge controversy, the makers had opened up issuing a statement.
According to it, the film will not showcase any scene that would belittle the struggles of Eelam Tamils in Sri Lanka or hurt their sentiments in anyway and also clarified that 800 is purely a sports biography film about the legendary cricket Muthiah Muralidaran.
Apart from fans, several celebs too have condemned this film. Now, director Bharathirajan has reacted to this on his social media. In his statement he has requested the actor to drop the film citing reason that Muttiah is considered as a traitor. Check out the statement here -
