Ameer is a multi-faceted actor, screenwriter and the director of acclaimed films such as Mounam Pesiyadhe, Raam and the evergreen hit Paruthiveeran. The actor was last seen playing a pivotal role in director Vetrimaaran’s gangster epic Vada Chennai.
In a special interview to Behindwoods, Ameer spoke at length about the influence of Television in daily lives. He said “The laymen are suffering from a lot of frustration in their daily lives as we are rapidly ascending into western lifestyles . Some get over it by taking up spirituality or drinking alchohol, others watch television shows like Bigg Boss. I feel television is more dangerous than alcohol.”
He had also compared Bigg Boss with other television shows like Satyamev Jayate, Neeya Naana and so on to conclude that audiences will easily lap up to television programmes, irrespective of its content. Ameer also told that Bigg Boss encourages gossiping and the show is pre-planned. He said “In every season, there are young contestants and a competion or love story is being cooked up between them. The show is pre-scripted in my opinion and this is of no use to the society.”
Ameer had also blamed social media sites for increasingly spreading information regarding the show. The ‘Aadhi Baghavan’ director had also opened up about the show’s host Kamal Haasan. He said that his opinions regarding Kamal Haasan and his political journey is blown out of proportion. Watch the full video here:
