Udhayanidhi won the election by a margin of more than 68,000 votes. Junior Stalin, who received his certificate of success, presented it to his father and DMK leader MK Stalin.

Udhayanidhi is known for his films such as Oru Kal Oru Kannadi. Many people from the film industry have been congratulating the actor-politician. Dhanush took to Twitter and wrote –

Dhanush is busy with many films on hand. His latest release Karnan did well in the theatres which have been shut now. Karnan was directed by Mari Selvaraj and produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu of V Creations. Rajisha Vijayan played the female lead while Santhosh Narayanan scored the music.
