Selvaraghavan's 2006 crime classic Pudhupettai climaxed with a high possibility of a sequel. We see Kokki Kumar, with a deformed hand, becoming Finance minister, while the politician and Kumar's mentor Tamizhselvan escapes his karmic consequence, as he gets settled elsewhere.
Still, some characters haven't attained their closure, as they are left with an open-ended resolution. The film says less about Kokki Kumar's son, a newborn baby he throws in a trash bin, only to be adopted by a kind-hearted woman.
With the announcement of Pudhupettai 2 by Selvaraghavan, the narrative might open a can of worms and currently, we are left with a few 'What If' scenarios. What if Kokki Kumar's son gets to know about his biological father, and comes to terms with his sinful past?
Pudhupettai 2 gives a possibility of exploring the present lives of its characters like Selvi (played by Sonia Aggarwal), who, as the film's end credits say, resides at a mental asylum. Pudhupettai 2 offers a lot of intriguing prospects.
