"MANI SIR SHOULD HAVE DIRECTED VAANAM KOTTATUM!"

The film is directed by Dhanasekar of Padaiveeran fame, and written by ace director Mani Ratnam. The shoot of the film started a few days ago, and is progressing at a good pace. The director, Dhanasekar, sent a statement to the press about Mani Ratnam's contribution to the film.

He said: "I had spoken to Mani sir about a few people who were living in and around Theni. I told him about this and he immediately narrated it to me as a story. I was surprised. After Padaiveeran, he told me that I knew the people of that region better, and it would be better if I directed it. He also assured to produce the film." 

The shoot is currently taking place in Theni. Sid Sriram makes his debut as a music director through this film, while Preetha Jayaraman handles the cinematography. Stay tuned for more updates.
