Suriya is currently gearing up for the release of his 38th film, Soorarai Pottru which is directed by 'Irudhi Sutru' fame Sudha Kongara. The film features Aparna Balamurali as the leading lady. The movie is scheduled for a direct OTT release via Amazon Prime Video on October 30.
Now, a case has been lodged against a song in the movie. Chennai High Court has directed the police to take legal action as Karthik, a resident of Dharmapuri, had filed a case seeking a ban on the film till 2022 saying that the song "Man Urunda Mela" featured in the film Soorarai Pottru, contains caste-related lyrics and such song would cause trouble.
Judge Ilanthirayan, who heard the case, ordered the police to consider the complaint and take action. The case was lodged on the basis of these lyrics in the song - "Keezhsaathi odambukkula odurathu sakkadaiya? Andha Mel saathi karanukku kombirundha kaatungaiya!"
Produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment in association with Guneet Monga, the cinematography for the film is handled by Niketh Bommireddy. The music is composed by G. V. Prakash. While it is also known that popular Tollywood actor Mohan Babu will also be seen in a pivotal role in the film.
