The Family Man Season 2 starring Manoj Bajpayee, Priyamani, Samantha Akkineni, Sharib Hashmi and others, has been receiving a positive response from all quarters. The plot which is set in "the hot and happening Chennai", has also been mired in controversies as several people accused the show of being 'Anti-Tamil'.

The Tamil Nadu government objected to the series, and claimed that Raj and DK, the creators of the show, depict the Eelam Tamils in a highly objectionable manner. Naam Tamilar Katchi leader Seeman had also demanded a ban on The Family Man 2.

Several Tamil actors including Mime Gopi, Ravindra Vijay, Devadarshini Chetan and Anandsami were also seen playing significant roles in the series and have been applauded for their performances.
