The film had received favourable critical and commercial response for its hard-hitting portrayal on the concept of consent. Based on the 2016 Hindi film Pink, the film is adapted to Tamil and directed by H. Vinoth.

The producer had recently taken to his social media and surprised everyone with the first look of his next film titled Maidaan. This upcoming sports-drama features Ajay Devgn and also marks the debut of the National Award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh in Bollywood.

While the first look has taken the internet by storm, the team has kickstarted the film with a formal pooja. The pics of the same is doing good rounds in the social media. Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn will be seen essaying the role of legend Syed Abdul Rahim, head coach of India's first football team and also known as the “Architect of Indian Football's Golden era".

Under Syed Abdul Rahim's period as coach, the Indian football team won the Asian Games in 1951 and 1962 and reached the semi-finals of 1956 Summer Olympics. Written by Saiwyn Quadras and Ritesh Shah, Maidaan will be directed by Badhai Ho director Amit Ravindernath Sharma and presented by Zee Studios. The film is expected to release in 2020.
