Kanchana (2011), the first part of the popular franchise in South India that starred Raghava Lawrence, Raai Lakshmi, Sarathkumar was a successful horror movie that was very well received. The second part, Kanchana 2 (2015) was a bigger blockbuster that went to collect more than 100 crores in Raghava Lawrence's direction. Now, Lawrence is all set to remake Kanchana 1 in Hindi.
Now it is confirmed officially that Akshay kumar has been roped in to play the lead in the film while talks for casting a popular artist for the role of Sarathkumar is still going on. Raghava Lawrence make his directorial debut in Bollywood through this film.
More details on cast and crew can be expected shortly. The shooting for the movie is expected to begin from the month of April.
It can be noted that the shooting for the Kanchana 3 movie in tamil starring Raghava Lawrence, Oviya, Vedhika and Nikki Tamboli has gotten over and the first look of the movie was released few days back. The movie is scheduled to release on April 18 as summer special by producers in Sun Pictures.
