The Me Too is a movement against sexual harassment and sexual assault. #MeToo spread virally in October 2017 as a hashtag used on social media in an attempt to demonstrate the widespread prevalence of sexual assault and harassment, especially in the workplace.
Now after actress Tanushree Dutta's allegation on a popular actor, MeToo movement has gained popularity again in India. Several top names in the Tamil film industry have also been brought into the table.
During an interaction with the media, when director Bharathiraja was asked to comment on the MeToo movement, this is what the veteran had to say:
"I am sorry, you can ask me anything related to me, my profession or my cinema. I can't answer other unwanted questions.
You meet me, I meet you. What MeToo? What is MeToo? Tell me? Did you see any star misbehave with anyone? You have only heard about it. I cannot answer to speculations. If you have seen an incident and ask me with a solid proof, then I can answer your question."
