Jyothika said that while shooting at the Thanjavur government hospital, she was heartbroken to see its poor maintenance and added that when she visited the Thanjavur temple, it was a different story altogether.
She said that just like how people put money into temple hundiyals, money needs to be pumped into schools, hospitals and such.
However, a few individuals sought to give a communal colour to her speech. Suriya and Jyothika stood by the latter’s comments. Later, the actress also walked the talk and donated Rs 25 lakh to the hospital for maintenance works and the effect is there for all of us to see.
