AR Rahman, who has been ruling the music industry as well our hearts for several years, had earlier announced that he is stepping into the producer’s and the writer’s shoes with ’99 Songs’ under the YM Movies banner for which he has also collaborated with Jio Studios.

The film is a young and passionate love story with music as its soul and is directed by Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy. The movie’s audio release was held recently. When the anchor welcomes the hero in Hindi, AR Rahman can’t help himself and pulls her legs, saying, “Hindi?” which left the audience in splits.

The event saw the attendance of many tinsel town celebrities such as singer Srinivas, directors Gautham Menon, SJ Suryah, Vignesh Shivan, actor Sivakarthikeyan, music composers Anirudh, Yuvan Shankar Raja, GV Prakash Kumar, amidst others and grabbed a lot of eyeballs.
