The Fukuoka Prize is an award, established by the city of Fukuoka and the Yokatopia Foundation of Japan to honor the remarkable work of individuals or organizations in upholding or developing the Asian culture. This year’s Fukuoka Prize recipient is our very own, Mozart of Madras, AR Rahman.

“I am pleased to know the love of the people of the city of Fukuoka towards me and I am honored by this gesture” proclaimed Rahman while commenting about receiving this award that is all set to join the multiple other laurels decorating his living room.
