“IT'S TIME LGBTQ FAMILIES ARE NORMALISED TOO” NATIONAL AWARD-WINNING EDITOR ON BUYING HOUSE WITH GAY PARTNER
Home > Tamil Movies > Tamil Cinema NewsThough a lot of welcome steps have been taken towards de-stigmatising the trauma that LGBT community faces, the truth is that still a lot has to be done. National award-winning editor and screenwriter Apurva Asrani had recently posted a picture of the nameplate of his new house, which he has purchased with partner Siddhant.
He also spoke about how they had always lied that they are cousins when hunting for houses together and that it would not be the case anymore. His social media post read: “For 13 years we pretended to be cousins so we could rent a home together. We were told ‘keep curtains drawn so neighbours don’t know ‘what’ you are’. We recently bought our own home. Now we voluntarily tell neighbours we are partners. It’s time LGBTQ families are normalised too.”
