Amala Paul's Amma Kanakku was a movie that was remade from the internationally released Indian film 'Nil Battey Sannata', which marked the debut of director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari. She also directed the Tamil version.
Her next movie was the successful Bareilly Ki Barfi, starring Kriti Sanon, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Rajkummar Rao in leading roles, with Pankaj Tripathi and Seema Pahwa portraying supporting roles. Ashwiny won the Filmfare award for Best Director with Bareilly Ki Barfi.
Now, Ashwiny has completed her movie Panga with Kangana Ranaut, which is expected to release on 24 January 2020. Incidentally, Ashwiny has noted in her instagram page that her next movie will be based on the life story of the iconic couple of Software Industry Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murthy, and she personally met Sudha Murthy.
