Akshay Kumar began the shoot for his next film Pad Man, a biopic based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham who found a way to make cheap, affordable sanitary napkins for women in his village.
Akshay tweeted, “Embarking on a new journey, this time with the Mrs. First day of@mrsfunnybones' #Padman directed by R. Balki,need ur love & luck as always”.
Pad Man is the maiden production venture of his wife Twinkle Khanna where Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte are the leading ladies. Balki directs the film with PC Sreeram handling the camera. The film will be shot near a village in Indore.
