KALYANI PRIYADHARSHAN SHARES HER EXPERIENCE OF BOOKING ON COWIN SITE, AND HOW FINALLY SHE MANAGED TO GET VACCINATED! - CHECK OUT
Home > Tamil Movies > Tamil Cinema NewsVaccination drives for 18 plus people are getting ramped up. Actress Kalyani Priyadharshan recently had her first dose and narrated her experience.
"It’s been over 24 hours since I got my first dose of the vaccine. Feel a bit fatigued but relieved 😊. I thought I’ll recount my experience and how I went about it because there seems to be a lot of hesitation and confusion about the process. It’s a bit of a long post because I’m going over registration, scheduling, the shot and what it feels like after - and Instagram doesn’t let me post such a long caption." (sic) – she wrote.
She also gave pointers on how to go about the vaccination process and wrote –
First things first, registration: You can either do it through the cowin portal or the Arogya Setu app. That app never worked properly for me and was a real pain to deal with. I registered through cowin. Took several days and many attempts but don't lose hope because it's the only way. There are very few slots for 18+ in chennai but even yesterday I saw 3 vacant slots. They pop up randomly. Keep trying. It's a terrible system but it's the only thing we can do."
"Next come the shot itself. I won't tell you which one I took because it doesn't matter. Get any you can find. Unfortunately at private hospital the price of covaxin and covidsheild is a ridiculous 1250 and 850 respectively. But this is the price we are forced to pay to keep our lives safe. I was asked twice if I've had any recent fever or symptoms of illness. You strictly must not take the vaccine if you have been or are sick,” she further wrote.
On getting the shot and the side-effects thereof, she wrote –
"The shot itself felt like a little prick. I didn't feel much as I was asking my dad to take a photo and was distracted. I was made to sit there for 20-30 minutes while I was moniotred and told I might feel pain at the injection site and have fatigue or fever that night."
"I went home and over the next couple of hours as predicted the pain in my arm at the injection site started to increase. It felt heavy and sore. This pain is different for everyone. For me it hurt a lot. I couldn't life the arm. I was instructed no to apply hot compress of any kind do I just lay down in bed the entire day watching TV shows on prime. I felt a little tired but no fever or body ache. I still took a pill before I slept.”
"It's been 24 hours and my arm still hurts but it's better than yesterday I'm told I might feel this for one or two more days. I feel slightly tired but fine otherwise. I also checked back on cowin and it shows that my first dose has been registered and allows me to see a countdown to the next," she concluded.
