Television and film actor Trupti Shankhdhar, who belongs to Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, has claimed a threat to her life from her father. She posted a video on social media in which she is heard claiming that her father, Ram Ratan Shankhdhar, wants to marry her off to someone she doesn’t like and further talks of threat to her life if she doesn’t act as he pleases.

Actress accuses dad of forcibly trying to marry her off

The actress has sought protection from the Bareilly police. She is heard accusing her father of pulling her by her hair and thrashing her. Trupti alleged that her father is asking her to return the money he gave when she arrived in Mumbai to make a career in the entertainment industry.

It is being learnt that her father happens to be a businessman. Though no formal complaint has been lodged, the Bareilly police are investigating the matter.
