Actor-director Cheran is all set to play the lead in a film after quite a while - and it will be one in an investigative, emotional thriller directed by Raj Kumar, of Mazhai fame.
When we contacted Cheran, he revealed: "I will be playing the lead in this film, the title of which will be revealed soon by Raj Kumar. He is a very good director, and there is strong content in the film. The content is the hero. Apart from me, there will be a bunch of newcomers in this film.
Shooting for the film is starting tomorrow. It will definitely be an impactful film when it releases."
Cinematographer MS Prabhu will handle the camera for the film. Cheran said about Prabhu, "Yes, MS Prabhu is the director of photography for the film. He is a very talented and experienced cinematographer."

Actor-director Cheran, who is currently busy with the making of his upcoming film as a hero in an untitled project directed by Raj Kumar, spilled the beans to us on his own next directorial.
"I had announced last year that I have two projects in hand for direction. One of them will go on floors this April. I will be playing a major role, along with a hero and heroine, both of whom I have not finalized. The search is on," he said.
Talking about the other cast members, he revealed, "The film will feature Thambi Ramiah, MS Bhaskar, Jayaprakash, Suganya and a few others."
