Director Atlee's upcoming film Bigil stars Vijay and Nayanthara as leads while the ensemble supporting cast includes Yogi Babu, Vivekh, Anandraj, Kathir, Jackie Shroff and others. This big budget feature is produced by AGS Entertainment and is set to release on October 25.
Veteran actor, playwright and the member of Bharatiya Janata Party, S. Ve. Shekher, defended the portrayal of Vijay's character in the film. The actor took to his official Twitter account to express his views regarding the issue.
Unity in diversity. WE CELEBRATE THIS.

In the tweet, S. Ve. Shekher said it is wrong to vilify the actor for portraying characters of different faiths. The politician also questioned whether Vijay had spoken ill about other religions whilst praising his own religion in public and added that people of this land should celebrate the unity between the diverse cultures.
The technical team of Bigil includes cinematographer GK Vishnu and editor Ruben while the film features music composed by AR Rahman. After Bigil, Vijay will be playing the lead in director Lokesh Kanagaraj's Thalapathy 64.
