Sarkar is Vijay's next film after Mersal, and this is directed by AR Murugadoss. This is Vijay's 3rd collaboration with the director after Thuppakki and Kaththi. Sarkar has Keerthy Suresh as the female lead, while Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Radha Ravi, Yogi Babu, Pala Karuppaiah and others play crucial supporting roles.

While fans are eagerly waiting for the release scheduled on November 6, Ram Muthuram Cinemas have announced that they'll be playing the popular song Aalaporan Tamizhan before screening the film, since it is very close to heart for Vijay fans.
