100 PC SEATING ALLOWED IN THEATRES? - GOVT RELEASES NEW SET OF SOPS

The central government has ordered that theaters can operate with 100 pc seating across the country from tomorrow, February 1. Visitors to theaters must wear a mask. The government has said that everyone who comes there must get their body temperatures taken. The government has said it wants to encourage digital money transactions to receive theater fees.

Earlier, the Tamil Nadu government had prematurely allowed for theatres to open with 100 pc occupancy which was opposed by many including the medical fraternity. Soon enough, the Centre made them withdraw the same. Now, the central government itself has allowed for the same.

Wonder Woman 1984 and Master were some of the recent releases that managed to rake in the moolah at the box office post theatres being reopen. Many exhibitors are gearing up to release their films in theatres, spurred by the success of Master.
