VEDHIKA IS BACK IN PRABHU DEVA'S NEXT ...

Vedhika, who has proved her credentials both as a commercial cinema heroine and also as a quality actress, has signed on as the lady lead in the Victor Jayaraj directed Vinodhan to be funded by Prabhu Deva Studios. This would be her first Tamil film after the memorable Kaaviya Thalaivan. When we chatted with her, the excitement in her voice was evident,

 

"Vinodhan would be a fun comedy film for the youth with a good concept, and would fall under the new wave of cinema being churned out nowadays. It is an honor to feature in Prabhu Deva's home production, as I still vividly remember his compliment about my dancing in 'Kutti Pisase'.

 

Director Victor is a former associate of director Vijay and is very talented. Other than him, Imman takes care of the music and Madhan Karky is working on the dialogues. We have a good team and we will start rolling soon. I have always believed in my instinct and the power of a good script, and this film would be a worthy one".

 

Vedhika is also playing what she calls a 'lifetime role' in the P Vasu directed Shivalinga in Kannada opposite Shivaraj Kumar.

 

"I had to give about 75 to 80 days from my dates for this film, and also had to let go of some good Tamil offers because of that. It is my toughest role, and my experiences in Paradesi and Kaaviya Thalaivan have really helped me face such projects. After such a difficult film, Vinodhan is a good change-over.

 

Then I have James and Alice with Prithviraj in Malayalam, where I play the titular role. It is directed by Sujith Vaassudev, the cameraman of Drishyam. I am also in talks for a few other films, which would be announced soon. I am in a happy space now, with all these films."
