VEDALAM TAKES CHARGE OF THE BIGGIES

The two Diwali releases, Vedalam and Thoongavanam, released last Tuesday as a festival delight for audiences and fans. Initially in Chennai city, most of the big screens in city limits such as Abirami 7 Star, Sangam, Shanti and Albert had allotted 2 shows each for both the films till the end of the weekend.

 

But from yesterday, Nov 16, Vedalam has grabbed 4 shows in all the aforementioned big screens. It was already running in other big screens such as Sathyam and Devi Paradise from Day 1, thereby giving it a lion's share of the main screens across the city now.

 

After a record opening and a first week TN gross of around 50 crores, Vedalam is expected to further consolidate its standing in the days and weeks to come. The way TN rains pan out would also be crucial to the magnitude of its success.
