It is now known that the Marathi film Court has been selected as India’s entry into the Oscar race in the Foreign Language category. But it looks like one more film, this time, a Kannada flick has been chosen as a lateral entry into the Oscars.
The film titled as Care of Footpath 2 is directed by the world’s youngest director Kishan Shrikanth, best known by his screen name Master Kishan. This is the sequel of Care Of Footpath made in 2006 and features Esha Deol, Avika Gor and others.
Esha’s mom Hema Malini took to Twitter to share her excitement in successive tweets:
“Wonderful news which I must share with all of u! Esha's bilingual movie in Kannada & Hindi has made a lateral entry into the 2016 Oscars!
Premiere will be in LA, USA in Oct. before release in India. The movie will be released in Hollywood style with a lot of fanfare!
All India release in Nov. Esha plays the role of Meera, a bold advocate fighting for justice.1st time a Kannada film has won an Oscar entry!”
Congrats team!
