The very social, extremely caring and courteous to 'any random stranger wanting a photograph', Pooja Umashankar is a darling at heart, loved by all. Debuting with the highly successful Jay Jay, she continued to be part of well known films. Pooja reached critical acclaim for her lifetime performance as a blind beggar in Naan Kadavul which earned her a South Filmfare and Tamilnadu State Film Awards.

To the recent Vidiyum Munn in which she played a sex worker, Pooja has been doing Sinhalese films also simultaneously. The charming lady is celebrating her 33rd birthday today. Behindwoods wishing her an illustrious career to follow.
