The official Indian entrant in the 'Oscars 2015' race

Geetu Mohandas, the heroine in the Mouli directorial Nala Damayanthi with Madhavan should be a proud woman for her debut directorial film, Liar’s Dice has been chosen from India to compete for Oscar Awards in the Best Foreign Film category.

Liar’s Dice is about migrant laborers and their exploitation and features Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Geethanjali Thapa and Manya Gupta. Geethanjali, in fact, won the National Award for Best Actress in 2013 for her performace in the movie. The film was also premiered at the Sundance Film festival.  

On her film being chosen to compete for the Oscars and her plans about marketing it, Geethu says that she would not lobby for her film as she is confident that it would speak for itself.
