Though Venkat Prabhu has directed quite a few successful movies, Mankatha remains his most memorable movie till date. Venkat recently narrated a few interesting episodes from his experience with Ajith

"Just after Chennai 28 released, Ajith asked me to ready a story for him, and even sent me to a couple of popular producers. But they didn't have the faith that I would be able to handle a star of the magnitude of Ajith. That's why I couldn't direct Ajith immediately after my first movie. But he had the belief to give me the chance to direct his 50th film. Even for Mankatha, I just narrated a one-liner to him and he approved it. I told him the complete story, just a few days before going for shoots. He has such belief and trust in me", said a humbled and grateful Venkat Prabhu."
