Jai + Swati Combo reminds us of “Kangal Irandal” song, which was one of the best melody songs in this decade. The combo is back again with Sarvana Rajan, former Associate Director of Venkat Prabhu. Adding to it, the sensational star Sunny Leone has performed for a song in this movie. Let us whether this Vadacurry will be a tasteful one for Common Man in this review.

Story: The movie revolves around the Common Man ‘’Jai” (Sathish), who gets into various issues, due to his low cost mobile phone. Suddenly, one day, he gets an iPhone and what happens next forms the crux of the story.

Jai – Jai’s performance in Engaeyum Eppothum & Raja Rani were one of the major reasons for success of those films. He is a talented actor and has done complete justice to his role in this movie asusual. His voice modulation adds much more value to his acting.

Swathi – Though she has acted in Kanimozhi, Poraali & Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumar, audience gets reminded of only Subramaniapuram, when they see her face. She doesn’t have meaty role in this movie yet again, but she looks beautiful and has performed very well in this movie.

RJ Balaji – He makes sure that audiences are engaged in the first half with his wonderful comedy timing. His dialogues, which are related with real life incidents, will be a huge treat for his fans.
Venkatprabhu, Aruldas & Kasthuri have done good job as supporting actors.

Debutant Music Directors Vivek & Mervin have given good songs with equally good BGM. Most hyped Sunny Leone Song was quite average. But, “Ullankaiyil Ennaivaiththu” song had been picturized well and will surely attract the kids.

Editors Praveen & Srikanth have made sure that the movie runs for only 2 hours and 3 minutes. There was a lead to a duet song in the second half, but thankfully, it was removed. First 30 minutes of the movie moves at slow pace with some good comedy scenes. Interval twist was quite good. Second half had been edited well and engages the audience much more than the first half.

Director Saravana Rajan, former Associate Director of Venkatprabhu has tried to give a movie in his Guru’s style and has succeeded in it. He makes sure that audiences are engaged throughout the movie, by giving a comedy-thriller film, with sufficient commercial ingredients.

Story & screenplay of the movie was quite similar to Venkatprabhu’s Biriyani. It looks very much similar to Venkat Prabhu movies, which will impact the movie in both the ways.

Overall, Vadacurry is a decent engaging thriller, which will satisfy Venkat Prabhu movie lovers.

First half - 2.5 / 5 & Second Half – 3 / 5
Rating of this movie by Common Man – 2.75 / 5

Rating of this movie for Venkatprabhu Movie lovers - 3 / 5
