Two
men, from different classes
of the society, with different
ideologies, are forced by circumstances
to spend some time together.
What happens, do they sort out
their differences or hit out
at each other? That’s
the idea behind TN-07 AL-4777.
A remake of the Hindi hit Taxi
No. 9211, director Lakshmikanthan
has promised that enough changes
in the script of the Hindi original
have been made to make the movie
suitable for Tamil audiences. |

As in the Hindi original, the title of the
movie is the registration number of a taxi
which is obviously a very important component
of the story. The driver of this taxi is
one of the main characters played by Pasupathi
in Tamil and by the mercurial Nana Patekar
in the Hindi original. Ajmal steps into
the shoes of John Abraham as the rich man
who feels that poor people in the society
are hindering the nation’s progress.
Then there is Meenakshi who is presumably
handling the part that Sameera Reddy did.
The clinching name in the cast of TN-07
AL-4777 is of course Simran who reportedly
plays a very important character in the
movie.
The title and the feel imparted by the stills
hint at an on the road fast paced story
with an element of thrill and suspense.
Both Ajmal and Meenakshi are looking to
consolidate in Kollywood after the success
of their debuts, Anjaathey and Karuppasaami
Kuthagaitharar respectively, they would
benefit more from a hit than anyone else.
Vijay Anthony’s music seems to have
been done solely with the intention of fitting
nicely into the narrative without spoiling
the feel of the movie. We can expect a quality
product. |
