Probably for the first time in his career, Vishal handled a performance oriented role to perfection in Avan Ivan. And after the movie’s release, he went on record stating that he is not up for another similarly demanding role in his career anytime soon. So his next Vedi is an action entertainer, something he is very relaxed doing. Besides, it’s a remake of the Telugu flick Souryam, making it a safe bet.
Prabhu Deva returns with his director’s mantle after disaster struck with Engeyum Kadhal. But since this is not an indigenous movie and a remake, we can expect Prabhu Deva to replicate the movie with panache. Being an entertainer himself, the movie is also expected to have his trademark dance movements and comedy.
Vedi has Vishal, Sameera Reddy, Vivek and Poonam Kaur in the lead and is produced by Vikram Krishna and Sriya Reddy for their GK Film Corporation. Sameera comes back after her Asal debacle and will be seen romancing Vishal. Vivek’s comedy portions are supposed to be one of the highlights of the movie. Although not revealed to the media completely, the rapport between Vivek and Prabhu Deva is expected to lighten up the movie’s proceedings.
Vedi is scored by Vijay Antony and has R. D. Rajasekhar’s cinematography and V. T. Vijayan’s editing. Being released this weekend, Vedi will have to be entertaining enough to stand the competition.
