Fresh
after the success of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya,
Gautham has steered his interest towards
a blood curdling thriller. Scripted and
directed by Gautham himself and produced
on behalf of his Photon Kathaas, Nadunisi
Naaygal, according to Gautham Menon, is
a psychological thriller – a rarity
in Tamil cinema

of a cop and his attempts to nail a bunch of serial
killers, who unleash their killing spree in the night
as symbolized by the movie’s title.
As has now become customary to Gautham’s all movies,
a dubbed version of Nadunisi Naaygal will also be simultaneously
released in Telugu under the working title of Erra Gulabilu.
Gautham’s casting decision of Sameera Reddy comes
from the rapport the latter shares with the director
since Vaaranam Aayiram days. Gautham was also open about
his decision mentioning that it was Sameera’s
professionalism that made him consider her for the role
in Nadunisi Naaygal. The handsome Veera Bahu, Gautham’s
long time associate, makes his debut in a full length
role in Nadunisi Naaygal although he has had one-minute
appearances in many of Gautham’s earlier movies
like Vaaranam Aayiram.
Veera, a former model who had also assisted Gautham
Menon in Vaaranam Aayiram and was deeply involved in
the production control activities for Gautham’s
movies including Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, Vettaiyaadu
Vilayaadu and Pachaikili Muthucharam, will be making
his acting debut in Nadunisi Naaigal. This psychological
thriller is due to be released shortly and has Sameera
Reddy playing the female lead.
Refuting reports by the media that he is related to
Sri Devi, Veera has said that he is not in any connected
to her family and the news is absolutely false.
Interestingly, Nadunisi Naaygal will not have songs
or even background music. A novel attempt by Gautham
Menon in the industry that otherwise thinks background
score is very important for thriller movies like Nadunisi
Naaygal. Let’s trust Gautham on this one and the
results will be for us to see on February 18th when
the movie is releasing.
Manoj Paramahamsa handles the camera while the movie’s
minuscule star cast also includes actors namely Deva,
Swapna and Samantha in a cameo role. Hold on to your
seats while Gautham traverses through the minds of criminals
in his psychological thriller. |
