Balaji Sakthivel, whose Kadhal and Kalloori were based on real stories, has come up with yet another true story. Vazhakku Enn 18/9 produced by Lingusamy is said to be a crime-thriller, starring a bunch of newcomers. This story is said to have conceived from a news paper article that featured years ago.

Balaji Sakthivel started the work of this film in 2008. Though he did finish writing the middle portion and the climax of the film within 15 months, he had difficulty in penning the opening of the film. He had to work with Lingusamy, the film’s producer, for one more year, designing the opening sequences.

The film went on floor in 2010, shooting a major part of the film in Dharmapuri. With this film, Director Balaji Sakthivel is said to have extensively explored teenage relationships, specifically infatuations and crushes that tend to develop during the growing up years.

The film features Sri, Mithun Murali, Urmila Mahant and Manisha Yadava in leading roles. It also features Muthuraman, Chinnasamy, Senthil, Rani and Rithika in supporting characters. Vijay Milton has cranked the camera and Gopi Krishna has edited it. With this film guitarist Prasanna makes his debut as a music composer.

Balaji Sakthivel has come up with a heavy subject this summer. Lingusamy has said that the film affected him deeply. He also expressed that he is extremely proud to present such a complete film. Though the star cast doesn’t consist of big names, the film is expected to work big time among the youngsters.
