Sevarkodi, as the name suggests, is synonymous with the Tamil God Murugan. It’s also safe to presume that the director is allegorical of the qualities of Lord Muruga in naming his movie Sevarkodi. Directed by debut director R. Subramanian, Sevarkodi has Arun Balaji and Bhama in lead roles.
Arun Balaji is a noted swimming champion, who is well-known in the athletic circle in Tamil Nadu. This film marks his film debut. Bhama shot into prominence in Malayalam movies recently and is seen playing lead roles opposite heroes like Dileep in the industry. This will be her first Tamil venture.
Sevarkodi, according to director R Subramanian, is inspired by real life events. The movie is an attempt at blending those events with fiction and presenting as an entertainer, the director said. Shot mostly in Thiruchendur, the movie will have the Murugan festival Soorasamharam featured in all its grandeur.
Sevarkodi is scored by C. Sathya, who has composed tunes for Vairamuthu’s lyrics. The movie is produced by Maharanth Kamalakar and Anand Reddy for their Bannari Pictures banner. Sevarkodi is scheduled to be released this weekend.
