Remakes are seasonal, mostly! Whenever there is a movie in Tamil that has an actor from a different regional language, that particular actor’s movies from his / her originating language flood screens in Tamil Nadu. In the case of Om Sakthi, we think it is Ileana. Ileana is part of Shankar’s remake of the Hindi blockbuster Three Idiots, Nanban in Tamil, and hence the remake rule applies to her as well. So here we have one of her movies.
Om Sakthi has junior NTR and Ileana performing the lead roles. Directed by Ramesh and produced by Aswini Dutt, Om Sakthi is scored by Mani Sharma.
Om Sakthi has the simplest of the story lines you could find: good versus evil. To put it in the director’s terms, it’s about how good always prevails over evil. God has been protecting life (human and others) on earth from time unknown. However, sometimes evil forces seem to take over and that is when human intervention is needed to crush the evil forces. This is the theme of Om Sakthi. It talks about the war between human and evil forces to protect God’s hands.
Director Ramesh is confident that the scenes picturized in Kumb Mela and other foreign locales will win a few hearts in Tamil. We hope that’s true about Ileana as well. Om Sakthi is releasing this Friday.
