‘Four
things come not back, the spoken
word, the sped arrow, past life
and the neglected opportunity’.
Director Prabhu concentrates
on the potency of the spoken
word in Laadam set to release
this Friday. Whatever you say
can come round like a boomerang
to get you when you least expect
it to, discovers the protagonist
of the movie after something
that he says threatens to mess
up his life. The lead character
is being played by debutante
Aravindhan. The female lead
is the Telugu sensation Charmi
who has a few Tamil films to
her credit some years back. |

The span of the story is just 16 days, consequently
the Telugu version of Laadam has been titled
16 Days. Because of its set time frame,
we can expect a racy narrative from the
director. Though the look and feel of the
film has suggested an action thriller of
sorts with goons and gangsters, we do not
have a concrete idea about the genre of
Laadam.
Kota Srinivasa Rao will be seen as the villain
in Laadam. One knows that given a good role,
this veteran can really turn in a power
packed performance. Others in the cast are
Manorama, Citti Babu and Nellai Siva. Dharan’s
music has received a reception that can
be termed as ‘not bad’ and might
serve as a strong point to the movie. But
most importantly, Laadam is being looked
forward to because it has given hints of
being a bit different from the usual fare,
also because it is being handled by Prabhu
Solomon who had managed to garner healthy
appreciation with his debut flick Lee. |
