Sonia Agarwal is back - in a movie that suspiciously looks like a regionalised version of Vidya Balan's block buster based on Silk Smitha, Dirty Picture. Despite the fact that Dirty Picture was released in Tamil as well, the makers of Oru Nadigayin Vaakkumoolam are braving it out.
Oru Nadigayin Vaakkumoolam is based on the life of a typical Tamil film actor and the hurdles she undergoes to make it big in the big and bad world of cinema. This film is also likely to be Sonia Agarwal's comeback film. She briefly retired from films after getting married to Selvaraghavan. After her divorce, she's actively looking for roles and Oru Nadigayin Vaakkumoolam seems to have come along after last year's Vaanam.
The movie is generic in nature and does not focus on anybody's personal life, the makers announced recently. In effect, it's not a biopic like Dirty Picture. Cast list also includes Ganja Karuppu and director Raj Kapoor. Produced by Prashanth and directed by Rajkrishna, the movie is scored by Aadish.
The film is releasing this weekend in a modest number of screens and will hope to bring Sonia Agarwal's career back to light.
