This seems to be the season of small time movies. While the release of such movies is a good thing, it’s to be seen how much value they add to Tamil cinema in general. Mudalidam is produced by one of the pioneer producers of Tamil cinema, AVM Productions.

Viddharth who played the grubby and down with love villager in Myna is the male lead in Mudalidam. The movie also has a horde of newcomers and is directed by R Kumaran. D Imman’s music has been released recently to favorable reviews. The songs are also slowing climbing up the music charts, thanks to the FM stations across the state.

Mudalidam is releasing this weekend with absolutely no publicity otherwise and will have to bank on its own strength at the box office.
